Extremetech points to a study from Jon Peddie Research which makes the claim that because of inadequate graphics subsystems, half of today’s installed PCs won’t be able to run the spiffy new Aero Glass user interface of Windows Vista. They can still run Vista, of course, and for many of them an add-in graphics card would fix the problem as the Peddie research explores at length. All of this begs the question of how many PC owners are going to find Vista compelling enough to even worry about upgrading, but it is useful to know the hurdles that the Vista marketers will face.
