When Microsoft announced a Compute Cluster Beta at PDC05, I was a little puzzled as to when the Compute Cluster Edition had become the Compute Cluster Solution. Ward Ralston explains it at the Windows Server Division Weblog in Is it CCS or CCE? Our HPC solution naming background. Basically, the CCE is a tailored version of Windows Server 2003 x64 that is part of the overall CCS package. CCE is actually optional since you can use a regular copy of Windows Server 2003 x64 instead. More by following the link.
