Latest High Definition DVD News

Posted by David Hunter at 9:18 PM ET.

Things have been relatively quiet since CES in the wrangle between the groups advocating the competing Blu-ray and HD DVD formats for High Definition DVDs, but there has been some new news:

Paul Thurott reports that, despite denials, Microsoft May Support Blu-Ray in Vista After All.

Samsung Completes Development of Blu-ray Drives. They only say they will be shipping sometime this year, although at CES they claimed April. However, their announcement left the door open for them to also produce a dual Blu-ray/HD DVD drive.

And finally, Adult film maker Digital Playground picks Blu-ray.
