Safeco Corp., the Seattle-based insurance company, disclosed in an SEC filing this morning that it’s selling most of its Redmond campus to its neighbor there, Microsoft, for nearly $210 million. The deal is another sign that Microsoft is continuing to expand, even though its growth rate is still much lower than at the height of the economic boom.
For more details, see this story. The campus contains six main buildings and more than 750,000 square feet of office space, plus warehouse space and parking garages.
Safeco is consolidating in downtown Seattle but will continue to lease part of the property for up to 3 years.
