Last night coincident with the Windows Live Events launch, Microsoft raised the limit for their beta free online storage offering, Windows Live SkyDrive, to 1GB and made a number of minor functional enhancements.
Also somewhat unintuitively, SkyDrive is now to be found on Windows Live under Spaces, the Microsoft blog offering. Everything has to go somewhere, but the obvious conclusion is that Microsoft views SkyDrive as a social and sharing application as opposed to a utility online storage app. With a 1GB limit, that’s probably not a bad call.
